Next Annual Election Period: October 15 – December 7, 2026

The next Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP) opens October 15, 2026 and runs through December 7, 2026, with changes taking effect for the 2027 plan year on January 1, 2027. During AEP you can change Medicare Advantage plans, switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage, or add or change Part D drug coverage.

📅 Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)

When: 7-month period around your 65th birthday

Timeline: 3 months before + birthday month + 3 months after

What you can do: Enroll in Parts A, B, D, Medicare Advantage, or Supplement plans

📋 General Enrollment Period

When: January 1 - March 31 annually

Coverage starts: July 1

When: January 1 - March 31 annually

Who: Current Medicare Advantage members only

What you can do: Switch plans or return to Original Medicare

🎯 Annual Open Enrollment (Most Important!)

When: October 15 - December 7 annually
